What You’ll Learn

In the Portrait Painting course, you’ll discover the techniques and skills needed to capture the likeness, expression, and personality of your subject. Whether you’re painting from life or reference photos, this course will guide you through every step of the process.

By the end of the course, you’ll be able to paint compelling, lifelike portraits with confidence!

  • Proportions of the Face: Learn how to accurately measure and depict facial features.

  • Capturing Likeness: Understand techniques to create realistic and expressive portraits.

  • Color Mixing for Skin Tones: Master how to mix colors for realistic skin tones and shading.

  • Light & Shadow: Study how light affects the face and how to create depth with highlights and shadows.

  • Brushwork & Texture: Develop skills in using different brushes and techniques for smooth skin and fine details.

Students are required to complete 39 hours of training.
